Sexual problems can develop at any time in a person’s life. They can be there from the beginning of your sex life or after you have have experienced a perfectly normal and satisfying sex life. They can develop slowly over time or suddenly after a specific incident or illness. They can cause difficulty during any stage (desire, arousal, orgasm, and resolution) of the sexual act and are common to both men and women.
Some of the physiological causes of sexual dysfunction are:
· Endocrine disorders (thyroid, pituitary, or adrenal gland problems)
· Hormonal deficiencies (low testosterone, oestrogen, or androgens)
· Problems with blood supply
· Enlarged prostate gland
· Drugs (alcohol, nicotine, narcotics, stimulants, medicines that lower blood pressure, antihistamines, and some psychotherapeutic drugs)
· Injury or disease (eg: back injuries, nerve damage, diabetic neuropathy, MS)
Whether the problem is inability to maintain an erection, premature ejaculation, vaginal dryness or inability to experience orgasm these functions are automatic body functions, that you cannot control consciously. All these automatic body functions, just like sweating or breathing are controlled by the unconscious part of your mind. Since hypnosis deals with the subconscious part of your mind you will be able to remove any false programming that has been installed.
