The name Deja-View reflects both the idea that we can review our past to help solve difficulties in our present and also that déjà-vu is a moment of intuition that connects us with our life plan.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Anyone can be hypnotised if they want to, or are open to it. As long as you are able to follow simple instructions you are capable of experiencing hypnotic trance. The more imaginative you are the easier you will find it. You will also find it easier if you are used to meditation.
What does hypnosis feel like?
Everyone experiences hypnosis differently, however hypnotic trance is a pleasant, relaxing and tranquil experience. People often say things like "I could hear every word you were saying", or "I felt like I could open my eyes if I wanted to". It is important to understand that hypnosis isn't like being asleep. Anyone who has experienced being engrossed in a book so that they switch off from their surroundings, or miss a turning whilst driving a regular route because their mind was elsewhere, has experienced a light level of hypnotic trance. While hypnotised you will be aware of all physical sensations around you, perhaps even noticing sounds and smells you wouldn't normally be aware of. In hypnosis, you simply have a stronger focus internally, plus wonderful deep relaxation. For some people it is the first time they have really relaxed their mind and body for many years.
How deep will I go?
The very first time you experience hypnosis you may experience quite a light trance, but there are no hard a fast rules. The more hypnosis one has, the greater and easier one drops down into the altered state. It is a skill, and like all skills, improves with practice. Generally, you will go as deep (or stay as light) as you need to and much of the time alight trance is all that is required to effect any changes.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a level of internally focussed attention - you cannot get stuck, at worst you would fall asleep. The only reason people stay in hypnosis is because it feels fantastic. Any time they want to, they can get up and walk away.
Can I be made to do anything I don't want to?
You may be surprised to find that you are still aware of what is happening, and what is going on around you. You are no more likely to do anything against your will, or moral code, than you would when fully conscious. This question is usually connected to stage hypnotism, and the effect it seems to have, but you must remember that the subjects used in this type of hypnotism have already agreed to involve themselves - they know what the shows are like and the sort of things people do, if they didn’t want to ‘make a fool of themselves’ they would not volunteer to do so.
What if I am under a doctor’s care or taking medication?
There are certain medications that may affect your ability to go into trance and certain medical conditions which may preclude Regression Therapy, we will discuss any of these issues at the first consultation. Pregnant women should not to undergo Past Life Regression and there are certain mental conditions where I would ask for your doctors consent.
How long will it take to achieve results?
An estimate of the number of sessions required can be given from the initial consultation, usually between one and six. However, you will usually notice a difference in your life from the first session, the hypnotic state enabling the unconscious processing of ideas and acceptance of change much faster than is possible in the fully conscious state. Where suitable I will provide a CD for you to ‘top up’ on the treatment at home and help to reduce the number of sessions required.
